Welcome to The Dark Empire! We are a NEW guild created as of 9:30 p.m. EST (approximately) Monday September 29, 2008. We currently have about 10 members (including a couple of alts) and in the coming weeks we hope to grow both as a guild and as a group of friends with time in a FRIENDLY, NON-ELITIST atmosphere and that is only possible with YOUR help and contributions. This guild's purpose WILL be multi-faceted and will include rvr/pvp, sieges, pq's and raiding. Leadership roles are available for the enthusiastic as we have several platoons who need direction in battle. Those who contribute more, are active, and show a willingness to help AND learn will be seriously considered for advancement.

A little about myself -
I'm 33, live in NYC and have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since the old Gary Gygax days (late 70's/early 80's) when it was created. I have been PC gaming since the late 80's/early 90's and have played nearly every RPG to date on the PC. As we all know, MMO's came into fashion around the late 90's and I have played several MMO's including Everquest (very short sting), City of Heroes, City of Villains, The Matrix Online, Guild Wars, Dungeons and Dragons Online, WOW, Star Wars Galaxies, Lord of the Rings Online and now this. Basically, I KNOW my MMO's and have been a top tier pvp'er in a couple of these mmo's. I have a wealth of information to bring about combat techniques in PVP and study combat systems intensively (I calculate numbers via spell dmg, talents, coefficients, etc - yeah I know...pretty geeky). I have run several different guilds including 2 top tier ones and hope to accomplish the same here in a FRIENDLY, NON-ELITIST environment. To do that, we need a little help including also learning from those (that includes me learning as well...) around us and from our very own mistakes...

Why have I told you all of this about myself? It is because I want you to know we don't intend on being a "flash in the pan" type of guild. We are here to stay. We are here to grow. We are here to become a DOMINANT force in this world. We are here to conquer and annihilate without mercy.

Rules:

1) You will find your stay here to be a pleasant one as I hope the environment proves to be friendly and mature. HOWEVER, please stay by the rules. If you do not, you will be warned and further infractions of the rules will result in you being kicked. I am very lenient but at the same time can be extremely strict - top tier guilds can only be achieved that way when everyone is on the same page and united.

2) Be respectful to your officers. Rank is of importance here. I know many of you aren't used to the rank system and some may find it funny but an organized system believe it or not creates an organized guild! By respecting rank, your officers, and your guildmates in general it makes pvp'ing, raiding and all that much more effective when everyone is not helter skelter.

3) If you cooperate with these rules and are found to be contributing to the guild by helping others by donating/trading items, helping them quest, being respectful to your officers, actively posting on the boards (this is a big one), teaching those who are newer than you....etc you get the point, you will be promoted and will earn your way up. It's a system where if you help the guild and reward it with your contributions, the guild in turn will reward you!

Simple enough? There are no language restrictions, no class restrictions (though I will close certain classes for a short period of time if we have a surplus of them), none of the elitist "you must be specced for this to join us on this siege" type of stuff. You will get suggestions but play as you will. Simply put we're all here to have fun and yet at the same time we're here to make this guild as great as possible.
